FAQ
What is standard tuning?
A piano is ready for standard fine-tuning if it has been 1-2 years since the last tuning and has not experienced drastic environmental changes. The current fee is $200 and includes minor repairs or regulation.
What is pitch correcting?
If it has been more than 1-2 years since the last tuning and/or has experienced drastic environmental changes, such as moving, a piano needs pitch correction (rough tuning) before it is ready for standard fine-tuning.
My piano key sticks!
Different reasons cause a key to stick. Minor repairs can be attended to during the tuning appointment.
What is regulation, and why does my piano need it?
After many years of use and environmental changes, internal action parts shift and compact so that they gradually develop excessive friction or no longer align well. Occasional regulation work will make your piano perform at its best by giving it a smooth and responsive touch.
